Remember It

Contemplate these questions, then click on each question to see the answer.
1. Who is our example in how we are to control our anger?
God and how he is slow to anger in his dealings with us.
2. Why must we be slow to anger?
Because ”the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires." (James 1:20)

Discuss It

  1. Why do you think that one of the most important principles for handling conflict is to control the passions of anger?
  2. Consider Paul’s words in Colossians 3:8-14. He uses the analogy of taking off old garments and putting on new ones. What does this analogy communicate to you about how we are to deal with those characteristics of the old life and those of the new?

Apply It

  1. Memorize Colossians 3:8-14 to remind you to put off the “old garments” of the flesh and to clothe yourself in the “new clothes” of the Spirit.
